Lights, Sound, Action – We Need YOU!

Clearview Community Theatre is currently looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help  run lighting and sound for our exciting fall show in October at the GNE Fairground in Stayner.  No experience required – just a positive attitude and a love for live theatre.  It’s a fun, creative way to be part of the magic behind the scenes and support your local arts community.

All who auditioned will be notified with either a welcome or a ‘see you next time’ notification during the month of July.  We had a total of 74 people audition of which we’re taking 30.  Thank you for sharing your talent with us!  If you didn’t make it into the cast, please consider joining our troupes starting in January.  No audition required!

The Lightning Thief:  A Percy Jackson Musical

Percy Jackson discovers he’s the son of a Greek god and is suddenly accused of stealing Zeus’s lightning bolt. To prevent a war among the gods, he sets out on a fast-paced quest with his friends, battling monsters and uncovering the truth. Blending humour with Greek mythology, the story celebrates friendship, courage, and embracing what makes you unique.

Travelling Troupes start January 4!

Our travelling troupes will start again in January – stay tuned.

Youth Troupe – January 4th – ages 12 – 19yrs – Monday nights 6:00pm – 7:30pm.  A group geared to youth, singing popular and broadway songs with a special emphasis on fun!

Open Troupe – January 4th – all ages – Monday nights 7:30pm – 9:00pm.  An open group of all singing broadway and popular songs in SATB format.

Ukulele Troupe –  January 5th – Tuesday nights 7:00pm – 8:30pm (45 minutes per level) all ages, three levels from learn to play to advanced

Children’s Troupe – January 6th – ages 6 -12 yrs (children must be able to read) Wednesday nights 7:00pm – 8:00pm.  The kids will do a mini-musical, last year they had fun being pirates, so wait and see what this year’s will be!

We are pleased to offer a variety of troupes allowing children and adults to explore their love of music through song or ukulele.  The season culminates in a concert fundraiser where each troupe showcases their talents to the delight of family members and the local community.  We also share this gift with others in the community, performing at local nursing and retirement homes and local events.  In past years we have performed at Stayner Nursing Home, Blue Mountain Manor,  and Waterside Retirement Lodge.  No auditions are required, simply send us an email to clearviewcommunitytheatre@gmail.com and we’ll add you to the group.  Registration will be held in January on the first practice of each particular troupe.

There are some costs associated with the Troupes:

1)     Any person associated with the production of our travelling troupes must be a member of our theatre group. Current memberships are valid from July 1st  2025, to June 30th, 2026.  Membership costs are: single $50.00 and family $120.00.  If you bought a membership for the fall show or the Fall Ukulele Troupe fall, then you are covered.

2)     There will be an additional $30.00 production cost for each of the Troupes.  This will cover costs associated with the purchase of music and any photocopying, hall use and purchasing of gear such as music stands.

3)     Open, Ukulele & Youth Troupe members will be expected to purchase a performance show shirt for about $40.00.
